Transformation of the Day: Yanda lost 42 pounds. This proud mom started struggling with her weight after and knee injury and lots of surgeries. At a yearly checkup, she found our that her blood pressure was super high and that the extra weight was badly affecting her knee. She decided to take action and do something about her situation to ensure a long, happy life. Check out what she shared with us…
First, let me start off by saying that I started off struggling with my weight in 2007 after I had a knee injury and several surgeries. Ever since then, it hasn’t been easy to maintain my weight. After years of just eating a lot of bad food and drinking a lot of sugary sodas, it all finally caught up with me. It happened one day when I went to my doctor to get a yearly check up. When they weighed me, I had topped the scale at 237 pounds! I was so disgusted at myself. I’d never in all my life been that heavy, only standing at 5’3″ tall. On top of that, my blood pressure was outrageous and the extra weight was bad on my already injured knee.
From that day forward, I knew it was time to do something about it, because I wanted to be around for a long time for my husband, my kids and my grandkids. So, I started off by changing my eating habits.
I no longer eat fried foods like I use to. I eat a lot of baked fish and chicken. I no longer drink sodas. Now, I have nothing but juice from time to time, and most importantly water! I drink at least 80 ounces of water a day. I limited my sweets and I cut out bread too.
I walk for at least 45 minutes, 5 times a week. Since the weather has gotten cold I don’t walk as much as I did in the summertime, but I still always watch what I eat on days that I don’t exercise. I also do squats, and 40 sit ups, 3 times a week. I know this doesn’t sound like a whole lot, but its a start.
I started my journey on June 15th 2015 at 237 pounds and now I weigh 195 pounds, I’m not finished yet, my goal weight is 150 pounds. I know I have a long road ahead of me, and it’s not easy either, but I can say this much… You can do anything you put your mind to as long as you have willpower, faith and just believe! Claim it and it shall be yours! Thank u and may god bless!
