Whitney lost 18 pounds. Her fitness routine went off course after moving back to her hometown for a job. As she says… Life Happened. This mom of two has been working since December to get back on track and her hard work has paid off.
Life Affects Everyone! I’m No Different!
I moved back to my hometown of Sylacauga, Alabama to take an awesome job with @workoutanytimesylacauga back in September 2017. I never knew how much of a routine person I was until I didn’t have a routine anymore. I left Montgomery weighing 180 pounds and teaching 3 to 4 classes a day (plus my own workouts). I never thought that altering my daily schedule would affect me so much. O boy, I was wrong!
I came home and started having home cooked meals everyday (Yes, real food!). I did less workouts because I was busy focusing on working and getting my kids adjusted to the move. I forgot about myself. Life Happened!
I woke up and realized that I weighed 205 pounds at 5’11”, with a body fat percentage of 30%! At that moment, I had to make the decision to get back to being committed and get my routine back. This was in December 2017. I started meal prepping my food again. I did my daily workouts, incorporating @sprint8 and MX4 once a week. I also did back training with @rayzorsharpfitness. (Now, I workout 5-6 days and teach class 4 times a week.)
Meal planning varies for me. I believe in meal prepping, but just knowing I have healthy options to cook at home works too. My eating routine is based on that 80/20 rule. 80% of the time, I’m eating healthy and the other 20% I have what I want. I’ve learned depriving yourself will be the quickest way to fall back into bad habits.
As of today, I am down to 187 pounds and I’ve lost 4% of my body fat. With that being said, the whole point of this post is that I want to show that Life Happens to Everyone! However, the key is how you adapt and how you find the inner strength to get back on track. At the end of the day, you only have one life to live. So live your best life!
What inspired me to not give up is my two young sons. I want to me a good example to them. I want to show them that when you set a goal, you don’t stop until you reach that goal.
My advice to other women would be to have realistic goals. Celebrate every small accomplishment, and learn to love yourself to the fullest. We only have one life to live so Live Your Best Life.
