Transformation of the Day: Whitaker lost 135 pounds. At 25 years old, she was unhappy with what she saw in the mirror, and she was dealing with PCOS. In 2018, she got the gastric sleeve, but she says that surgery only took her so far. Eating healthy food and working with a personal trainer allowed her to transform even more.
I’ve lost 135 pounds so far! I had the gastric sleeve in 2018, but that only got me so far…maybe 70 pounds. The other part has been me eating whole, healthy foods and working with a personal trainer! I train two hours a day, six days a week.
When did you start your journey?
March 2018
What was your motivation?
My #1 motivation was being unhappy when I looked in the mirror. I also suffer from PCOS. I was 25 years old, and I felt terrible.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating habits naturally changed when I became consistent because I was seeing results. As time passed, it became easier.
I focused on cutting carbs the most and anything processed. I mostly eat salad and fish daily with oil and vinegar. (no ranch or Caesar dressing) My biggest battle is still sugar. Limit my sugar intake to once a week. I am far from perfect.
Tell us more about your workout routine.
I have a personal trainer, William Hardy Sr @willpower_elite. We do combinations of HITT, weight training, cardio, etc.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 320 pounds, and my current weight is 185 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’1″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson is patience! Something I’ve never had. I had to stop obsessing over the number and fall in love with the journey.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Weight loss is not temporary. It’s not a six-month process like we think. It’s not going to happen in your time anyway. You will find all the results once you stop stressing over the scale. Just fall in love with the journey. That’s when you’ll reach your goal.
