Week 1 Check-in! – It’s Day 7 of our April Challenge and I’ve already heard a number of good check-in reports from ladies participating in the challenge. I want to hear about how your first week has gone. What has your experience been trying to avoid processed food and getting 5 days of cardio exercise each week? Let me know below in the comments field.

I went back to my Zumba classes, I’m 3:3. I’m slowly going back to my smoothies. Also I’ve decided, NO fast foods for a month! I just have to start back walking in the mornings (my days were smoother then). I have 49lbs to go!
Tanya says
I had a horrible first week. I’m hoping for a much better week this coming week.
Tina says
I only got 2 days of exercise so I’ve feeling a little behind the eight ball. I let the bad weather because an excuse but I’m not going to let that happen this week.
Brenda James says
My diabetes slowly getting under control right now it seems like my weight going back and forth but I’m still working hard to get my weight under control

Jennetta says
Exercise is going well. Been on vacation so it’s easier to exercise and eat pretty well. No McDonald’s or other fast food for a whole week! No french fries! Awesome! 🙂
Tasha says
I have been doing great so far…My biggest motivation was being committed in the March challenge, which made staying on track for the April challenge that much easier. For the potato chip crunch I love to hear, I substituted sweet yellow, orange and red peppers.

This was a pretty good week for me. Went to the gym 5 days out of 7, took a Spin Class twice this week and concentrated on stretching my hip to release the pain I’ve been having. My diet was alittle off, not with processed foods, but with portion control, but seeing progress.
Kim Washington says
Hi! What is the pain from? I too have been suffering from hip pain. What kind of stretches seem to work? Help?
MJ says
To eliminate my hip pain I do the following stretch: Sitting down in a chair, I cross one leg over the other…with the heal above the opposite knee. I leave forward until I begin to feel the stretch. I hold it for 20-30 seconds. I repeat on the other side. There is no pain with this stretch. This stretch usually helps me.

I hsve not done well at all. And this week is going to be trying. I have meetings everynight this week and it looks like might be eating on the run or not at all. I would like to know what alternatives there are for eatting while on the go. Please suggest information or sites. Thank you.

My first week went better than I thought. I’m 4 days of gym cardio and 1 day of walking. The elimination of processed foods has been life changing. I noticed a lot bloating in my stomach gone and I don’t feel bloated as before. I have lost 6lbs this week. Still following the March challenge as well, juicing and meal replacement smoothies, baked kale chips.
Inetha Mallard says
I completed all of the squats and deadlifts. I really focused i n my eating and trying to eat clean. No processed foods this week.
Kim Washington says
Well…no exercise this week. Been suffering for 3 weeks with sciatic hip and leg pain or something. Very frustrating. My food use is okay. I’ve been reducing eating out, and am more conscious of processed foods. Making smoothies feels a lot better to me. Emotionally, I feel okay, I get nervous when I don’t just grab a processed snack. I will have to work on this. At present progress is progress…

My first week went well, I made sure all my snacks & meals were prepared.
I drinked water only… I was prepared and full of healthy leafy veggies and lean proteins…
y williams says
O, yeah I did exercise everyday this week 30-40 min..
Arianne Murphy says
I did not get much exercise in this week, but I have changed a few things and I
Am hoping for better results. Good Luck ladies
MJ says
I walked one day. Did a walking march dvd one day. Did yoga stretch one day. I cooked 95% of the time. So, it’s not where I want to be….but is much better than I’ve done in the past. The challenge always echos in my mind when I want to grab something quick to eat.
Scefenia Dent says
I got in six days of cardio. I did ok with the food. This week will be better. I lost about two pounds but my biggest results was in inches. My clothes fit different. I am excited about the new week.
Kim Simmons says
I had a good first week, no processed foods, soda, or high sodium intake. Need to incorporate more exercise this week.
Belinda says
Went on short getaway last week. Ate out somewhat.
Today is Monday will start juicing and walking on treadmill with
Zumba this week.
Kyndall Peele says
Good morning! The first week of the April challenge was awesome for me! I lost 5lbs I’ve noticed how my energy has increased and I’m sleeping like a baby at night. I also added in not eating after 8pm and no carbs 6/7 of the week. At first cutting carbs and sugar was tough because I have a serious sweet tooth but after day 3 I find that I don’t even miss it! I can’t wait to see what’s to come the rest of the month!
Gloria Bailey says
Had a pretty good first week, I did not eat any fast food, and I worked out for at least 45 minutes everyday. I took two Zumba classes one on Tuesday and one on Thursday, I walked the treadmill 3 miles on Monday and Friday and on six days I did my beach-body workout either Slim in six or Hip Hop abs.Today is Monday and I am on my way to the gym!
Adrianne says
Not too good last week. Just starting over this week and reading labels. About to hit the gym and will go five days this week.
