Transformation of the Day: Wednesday lost 86 pounds. She was dealing with joint pain and frequent doctor visits because of GERD. By becoming a Pescatarian and cutting back on the foods and drinks that were negatively affecting her health, this Pharmacy Technician has transformed.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was being misdiagnosed with Lupus because of the constant joint pain that I was experiencing (caused by excess weight). I couldn’t paint my toes because I couldn’t reach them, and I went to the doctor frequently because of GERD. Also, I couldn’t shop in some of my favorite stores because they didn’t carry extended sizes.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by becoming Pescatarian. I cut back 90% on bread and sodas. I also was a daily wine drinker, so I stopped because it’s full of calories.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I never work out, LOL. However, I’m a Pharmacy Technician, so I am very active throughout the day.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I went from 240 pounds to 154 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’6″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started at the end of 2020, and it took about a year.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I had 0 surgeries or procedures.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson that I’ve learned so far is not to treat changing my eating habits like a diet because once I started to eat badly, I would give up. So I looked at it as more of a lifestyle change. When I fell off track, I would just do better the next day. Also, I learned the power of patience and portion control.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
It won’t happen overnight. Give yourself time, and don’t be hard on yourself. Also, set realistic expectations. Please don’t compare yourself to Instagram models because they don’t even look like themselves in real life.
