Transformation of the Day: Waglene lost 43 pounds with Keto and exercise. During her freshman year, she gained weight due to stress, anxiety, and overeating. By changing her mindset and being consistent, she has achieved impressive results.
During my freshman year in college, I’ve gained 50 pounds from stress, anxiety, and overeating. I was uncomfortable about how I felt until I began to start my transformation journey! It wasn’t easy, but it was the best decision I could have made. Since then, I’ve lost about 40 pounds and counting. If I can do it, you can do it too.
What inspires you to keep going, even when the journey is challenging?
What inspires me to keep going is the fact I’ve gotten this far. If I couldn’t do something back then, I’m inspired to do it now.
Also, I couldn’t have achieved these results alone. The support I have through social media and my friends has kept me going. I got this! Losing weight isn’t easy, but it’s totally worth it!
How did you change your eating habits?
I’ve done Keto for a while, and it has really helped me lose the pounds. When I live on campus (while in school), I stick to low carb instead of Keto.
Keto allows you to eat about 20-30 grams of carbs a day, but now I stay below 60 carbs a day. It still works, and I’m still losing the weight slowly!
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I work out about five days a week. If I’m lucky, some days consist of 2 workouts in a day. I start by walking two miles before a workout! This helps my blood flow and makes me feel energized to continue my routines. Then, I do core exercises! I’ve used workout programs from Mr. London and Chloe Ting, which can be found on YouTube.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 258 pounds, which was my highest weight. My current weight is 215 pounds.
What is your height?
5’6″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey in 2018 during the summer. It took me about two years because I was not consistent.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I’ve learned that I am capable of doing anything! I didn’t know I could get this far! I thought I would be stuck in my 258 lb body forever. When you develop the right mindset, you’ll get far!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
All I can say is, YOU CAN DO IT!! Simply start and go on from there. Nothing is too hard for women to do! Stick your mind to it, and you’ll achieve the goals you set for yourself.
