Weight Loss Journey: Venica lost 37 pounds. Loving herself and being healthy was her focus. She used her Fitbit, green smoothies, healthy eating habits and positive affirmations as part of her arsenal of life transformation tools. Check out what she shared with us.
My motivation was to just be healthy and I really wanted to look good naked for myself. I had gotten to the point where I was tired of starting over. I was tired of giving up on myself. I was SO over it. My husband got me a Fitbit and I started walking around my house to reach my daily 10,000 step goal. Then I started doing Fitbit challenges which lead me to wake up early and get my steps done early, so that I wouldn’t be last in the challenge. I didn’t care about being first, but I never let myself come in last. This led me to wanting to eat better because I didn’t like feeling heavy while getting in my steps. I also go to the gym 3 times a week, no matter what… even if I don’t feel like it.
I started doing green smoothies for breakfast. I cut back on all sweets, alcohol and I didn’t drink ANYTHING but water Monday-Friday. I also set a time (8:00pm) and no matter what I wouldn’t eat after that time. I pretty much ate what I wanted on the weekend. I didn’t count calories at all on this journey. Instead of counting calories, I counted my steps. Changing my eating habits wasn’t hard because I took it day by day and allowed myself to have bad days without feeling like I had to start over (which was something I would normally do in the past).
I used a saying that helped me throughout my journey: “My tastebuds don’t care about me, my body does, so it’s my turn to take care of my body and not my tastebuds” LOL. It helped a lot. I call it my SELFLove method.
Starting weight: 192 pounds
Current weight: 155 pounds
Height: 5’7″
How long did your transformation take? About 6 months
Advice for others: Love yourself enough to do it for you and nobody else. Do it out of love. When I decided to take care of my body as if I was taking care of someone I loved, that’s when this transformation happened.
I teach a SELFLove method to women. My blog is jus2chiks.net (still working on the site). I’m putting together a campaign called #HeyBestFriend where me and my partner will show women all over the world how to build a relationship with themselves and become their own BestFriend. Taking care of your body/yourself is an act of #SelfLove

I’ve had so many health challenges and with each one, I’ve gained weight. I remember saying I don’t want to get to 190. Then it was 200…210…220…230…240! I’m almost 250 lbs and with every boost of prednisone the doctors give me…I just get bigger and I feel worse about ne! I’m too short to carry so much weight and I need to, I want to get to a healthy weight…for me but sometimes I feel like it’s unattainable! Like everyone else can…sigh…but I can’t give up. I’ve come thru so much.

Wow your story sounds as if you were in my thoughts minus the success. I’ve started and stopped so many times my kids have begun saying “again” whenever I eat a salad. Thank you for your sel motivating words and the example of taking care of your body as you would anyone. Gotta start loving me, congrats on your success
