April 2016 – Weight Loss Journey: Valencia lost 55 pounds, going from a 18/22 to a size 6/10. After years of dieting, not loving her reflection and making excuses, she committed to changing her life after the loss of her mother. Check out what she shared about the actions she took.
Hey, My name is Valencia and I’ve lost 55 pounds! I went from 210 lbs to 155 lbs and from wearing a size 18-22 to now a size 6-10! (height: 5’4″)
Motivation: For years, I struggled with losing weight. I was always walking past the mirror being disappointed with myself and how big I had became! I would wear extra clothing to hide it or make excuses for why I was a certain size! After I lost my mom, it was a very hard time in my life, but also a joyous moment! It was hard accepting myself and my appearance, but I forced myself to! I made a commitment to myself to shed those extra pounds and get back down to my high school weight! Guess what? I did that and actually became smaller than what I aimed for! In the picture in the right and on the left, even though I’m the same person. I have a different view and mindset now!
Eating Habits: I didn’t eat more than 1000 calories a day and I incorporated Herbalife supplements into my diet. I only ate fat-free or non-fat diary products. No fast foods, drinks, sugary sweets or salty foods. No late night snacking. I also drank plenty of water daily!
Exercise: I walked 4-6 miles daily. I also did the Hip Hop Abs program and cycling. Some days, I played tennis. I worked out daily sometimes twice a day!
I may not be at my final goal, but I’m still determined to reach it and keep the weight off. It took me 4-6 months to start seeing results, but I’ve been working out and exercising for about 1 year and a half total.
Motivation for others: Never stop believing and stay consistent. Regardless of what the scale may say, stay focused. Even though it may seem like nothing is changing, everything changes! This journey helps you change physically and emotionally! You become more connected to your inner strength and you develop a drive to stay steadfast.
