Transformation of the Day: Valarres lost 34 pounds. After a doctor’s office wakeup call, this mom of three knew that she had to change her lifestyle and get her eating habits under control. A friend shared Dr. Sebi’s alkaline nutrition plan and she decided to give it a try. Since March, she’s gotten awesome results. Check out her story.
Hello! My name is Valarres M. “aka” Val. I just wanted to share my story with the world! I’m a 33 year old mother of three. A visit to the doctor on 2/25/17 revealed the truth that I tried to avoid. I weighed in at 211 pounds at 5’3″! That is the most I’ve ever weighed in my life! At that moment, I knew something had to change. The motivation to change my lifestyle came from knowing that my eating habits had gotten out of control, and the weight gain was starting to effect my overall self esteem. I would barely come out of the house!
One day, I was reading some material that a friend of mine shared online about Dr. Sebi and the Alkaline Electric Lifestyle. I was very intrigued by the amount of people who claimed that this lifestyle changed their lives tremendously. On 3/1/2017, I decided to give it a shot. I completely cut out all meat, dairy and processed foods. I eat a mostly raw, vegan diet now. I went from using a microwave nearly everyday, to never using my microwave at all. Today, I prefer raw meals made up of fresh, organic fruits and veggies. I’m also active again, doing cardio 5 days a week. My cardio is walking. I average at least 25,000 steps a day at work!
I feel like a brand new person. I feel great about ME, which hasn’t happened in such a long time. I’m currently weighing in at 177 pounds, which is 34 lbs down from where I started. The biggest lesson that I’ve learned is that food can actually be healing! Ever since I started making healthier choices, I’m feeling better than ever. I went from being sluggish and depressed, to being more active and happier than ever.
My advice to other women who want to lose weight is to go for it! If I can do it, anyone can. Also, do what works for you. Every lifestyle isn’t for everybody. Whatever it is that you choose to do, try your best to be disciplined and always think positive. There are a lot of women out there, like me, cheering you on.
