Update: We’ve been following Yvette‘s awesome journey since 2013. She recently wrote in to share her progress photos and let us know how she maintained her success, because maintenance is the real challenge. She didn’t let ups and downs stop her.
I was featured back in 2013. My starting weight was 264 pounds and I reached 213 pounds, for a total weight loss of 51 pounds. At the end of 2014, I’d gotten down to 204 lbs – 60 pounds downs. However, at the end 2015 I weighed in at 259 pounds. I totally got off track.
Sick of the ups and downs, I joined Mercy Weight Loss Solutions in June 2016 to prepare myself for weight loss surgery. I attended all the meetings, met with the nutritionist and the psychiatrist. The process takes ups to six months and you lose weight on your own during that time frame. In December 2016, I completed my 6 months of watching what I eat, completing JJ Smith’s 10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse, and walking my butt off (literally). I lost 45 pounds and decided not to have weight loss surgery. It just wasn’t for me. I continued to go the meetings as motivation because I was learning new things each week. Again, I did NOT have the LapBand, gastric sleeve, or any other surgery that is out here.
It’s a year later and I am close to my ultimate goal of weighing in at 175 pounds. I currently weigh 207 pounds. I love to eat and I continue to eat everything I love in moderation. I’m still walking my butt off as well. I also continue to detox following the green smoothie cleanse (full/moderation).
What lessons have a learned? Walking and lots of water is a must for me. I walk at least 30 minutes a day.
My advice: Don’t give up! I have been on this journey since 2012 and faced ups and downs. You just have to figure out what works for you.
