My name is Chelse, and I’m currently on my weight loss journey. You all have followed my journey for a while now, and I think it’s time to update you!
I had gastric sleeve surgery last year. After losing 60 pounds naturally, I weighed 279 on surgery day. I started at 335 pounds now I am 4 pounds away from being under 200! I love to educate others and spread awareness about weight loss surgery and the importance of maintaining a consistent exercise routine.
What is your current weight?
At my last weigh-in in March, I weighed in at 204 pounds.
How have you maintained your weight loss/continued to lose weight?
I would have to say that maintaining my weight loss is a product of consistency in the gym and my eating regimen. I try to work out at least three days a week, whether at home or the gym. I focus on weights and cardio mainly.
Regarding eating habits, a cheat day never hurts, but eating healthy 90% of the time has helped me. I meal prep, eating vegetables and protein throughout the week to help balance life at my 9-5.
Looking back on the lessons you’ve learned on your journey, which one stands out the most?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that the journey is never over. The finish line just changes. In the beginning, it was, “Get here, get there…” When I finally met those goals, I noticed I had new ones in play. I think it’s an endless cycle of becoming a better you when you are committed. It also means you should never give up, and it’s never too late.
Would you like to offer some advice to women wanting to lose weight?
Please do it for you and only you. It doesn’t matter what others think because you have to love yourself and that voice in your head. Only you can make the necessary changes you seek. No one else can do it for you. So hold yourself accountable and always be your biggest fan! If you don’t believe it, who will?
