Transformation of the Day: Tyneisha lost 67 pounds. Health is her motivation, as she is determined to be around for her daughter. She also wanted to get her blood pressure under control. By practicing mindful eating, working out consistently, and making self-care a top priority, she is thriving.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up? My biggest motivation when I started this journey was my overall health and being around for my daughter. My doctor told me that my blood pressure was high, and if I didn’t get it under control, I would have to start taking medicine.
How did you change your eating habits? I started practicing mindful eating, which simply means I was conscious about what I was putting in my body. I stopped eating fast food and drinking soda. I also started drinking more water!
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out? I started working out by just walking and trying to get 10,000 steps per day. Then I worked with a personal trainer for a couple of months. Now I go to the gym with my boyfriend 4-6 times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight? My starting weight 234 pounds and my current weight is 167 pounds.
What is your height? I’m 5’1″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take? I began my journey in April 2020, so I got started a little over a year ago.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey? I did not have weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far? The biggest lesson I’ve learned from this experience is that self-care is not just about looking pretty and pampering yourself! Self-care is more about learning to love your mind, body, and spirit and caring for each area properly!
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight? Simply consistency is key! Just get started and stick to whatever program you choose.
