Transformation of the Day: Tyesha lost 55 pounds and gained lots of lean muscle. She transformed her lifestyle and got out of a place of negativity with self-love, fitness and healthy eating habits. Check out her story.
In the past, I had that “You don’t wanna f*** with me.” face, that’s because that’s how I felt about myself and about how I looked. Negativity was written all over my face. You can literally see the dark cloud over my head! I had so much going on in my life that nobody could tell me anything about how I should go about my days.
Becoming healthy is one of the best decisions I made in my life. What kept me inspired was knowing that if I kept going, I would reach my goal of not only looking good but feeling good as well. I took a lot of photos and used them as a reminder that I wanted and needed to change and become a healthier person.
How did you change your eating habits?
I incorporated Herbalife into my routine. I also started to meal prep so that I made healthier choices throughout the week. I started eating smaller portions foods and increased my intake of veggies and whole foods. Lean meats, egg whites, quinoa, whole wheat bread, and almond milk are some of the foods I now eat regularly. I even went vegan for about a month.
What did your workout routine consist of?
When I first started, all I did was cardio. I lost a lot of weight quickly, but all my curves were gone. I went down to 130 lbs. Shortly after I reached that weight, I started lifting heavy to get to my goal weight. I did deadlifts, powerlifting, calisthenics, and aerobics. I work out about 5 to 6 times a week.
Starting weight/Current weight
My starting weight was 205 pounds, and I got down to 130 pounds. Now, I’m at 150 pounds, my goal weight.
What is your height?
I’m 5’2″.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey in July 2017. It took me less than a year to lose about 70 pounds and a year to gain about 15lbs in lean muscle mass.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I learned was to love myself because I didn’t before. Nothing easy happens overnight. I knew I had a goal to achieve which have now become my lifestyle.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Look, it’s super easy to eat a burger than to run on the treadmill. It’s much easier to say, “F*** it.” and give up rather than saying, “F*** it, I can do this.” I’m not going to sit here and tell you it would be easy. That’s the honest truth!
If you don’t believe you can, then you can’t. You need to do this for YOU! If you don’t want it bad enough, then you sure as hell won’t achieve it. You can take the easiest way out and still eat unhealthy food, but remember that you’re only hurting YOURSELF! 💯 I didn’t say it would be easy, but I know it will be worth it‼
Whether you’re trying to lose weight, stay fit or just trying to clear your mind, fitness should become an essential part of your life. Don’t be disappointed about not getting the results you want super fast. When it comes to getting in shape, consistency is the key. You must stick to your workout routine, even if you don’t feel like it.
