How have you maintained your success?
I eat 3 small meals and 2 snacks each day. Watching what I eat and reading the nutritional facts before purchasing food works for me. Cutting out fast food, junk food, fried foods and sodas is also key.
I plan my meals for the week and I stick to my plan. Eating a nutritious breakfast and eating my meals around the same time each day also helps. I only eat when I’m hungry, and I eat all my meals by 7pm. I eat a lot of whole grains, turkey, fruit, and veggies. I also drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest. I have continued to lose weight by putting myself first and being consistent. I always remember why I started.
For exercise, I do cardio at least 5-6 days a week. I workout around the same time each day for 90 minutes.
Of the lessons have you learned on this journey, what stands out the most?
Never say you can’t, because you can. It just takes time. Consistency is key. I’ve also learned that people aren’t always going be supportive. Always remember why you started.
What stands out the most for me is that this has been an awesome transformation. It feels great when you put yourself first.
At this point, would you offer any new or different advice to others who want to lose weight?
Eat more vegetables. Drink plenty of water. Practice mindful eating, and set meaningful goals. Make time for yourself. Be realistic and stay consistent.
