Update July 2016: Trece is still going strong and has lost 20 more pounds for a total of 70 pounds released! I asked her how she did it…
I have been able to keep the weight off by continuing to work out, drinking a ton of water and eating clean. One thing that has helped me on this journey is understanding that just because I have a slip up, it doesn’t mean I have to give up. We all have slip ups, it’s about getting back on track and never giving up.
Nov 2015 – Weight Loss Transformation of the Day: Trece lost 50 pounds. Inspired by the success stories of others and mentally prepared for the challenge, she started her journey in April. She cleaned up her eating habits, worked out regularly and now she’s sharing her success with us. Here is what she shared about her journey…
My name is Trece and in April 2015 I decided to start my weight loss journey again. What was different this time is that I was mentally ready and was inspired by following people who had lost weight. I figured that if they can do it, so can I.
I changed my eating habits by cutting my calories down while also keeping my sugar and sodium intake low. I only ate wheat bread and I cut out pork and beef, switching to ground turkey. I started reading the labels on everything I ate and if I couldn’t pronounce it I couldn’t eat it.
When I first started out I would do YouTube workouts or go walking around the park. Eventually I got my first ever gym membership and I would go there everyday to do HIIT (high intensity interval training) on the treadmill.
My starting weight was 217 pounds and my current weight is 167 pounds. Sometimes I still can’t believe that I actually lost 50 lbs! My height is 5’7″. It took me 6 months and although I have had some bad days, I never gave up. My advice for people who want to loose weight is to be mentally ready to make changes and also never give up. Just because you slip up or don’t workout doesn’t mean you should give up. Keep going because it will be worth it.
