What was your motivation?
I had a health scare, and I had Covid. I was heavy when I was sick, but I was comfortable. Then I was put on the ventilator for 32 days and lost 80 pounds. (Eventually, I gained that weight back.) After losing that weight, I couldn’t walk fast or take the stairs without getting short-winded. I knew I was small during that time, but the reason it happened differed from now.
Now my motivation is that after having Covid, I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Today, after changing my lifestyle, I can breathe better and climb my stairs better. I love dancing, and my back and knees don’t hurt.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?

- Being able to do physical activity
- I have a vision of how I want to look
- Reminding myself what is at stake if I don’t care or didn’t lose weight
