Update April 2018: Shout out to Tiffany! She lost more than 90 pounds and has worked to keep the weight off for more than 2 years. Check out how she did it.
Highest weight: 265 pounds
Current weight: 175 pounds
Goal: 165 pounds
“I’ve been on this journey for 3 years now and it hasn’t been easy. I started back in 2015 and it was difficult when I began to change my eating habits. I decided that instead of depriving myself, I would substitute instead. So, I started cooking with only fat-free items, and I began to bake everything. Instead of pop, I began to make smoothies and increased my water intake. I was embarrassed to go to the gym at first, so I would go really late at night when I knew it would be empty. I wouldn’t stay long, only about 20 minutes, but then overtime I pushed myself to stay longer and longer. Losing weight has not only helped my health, but it’s given me the self-esteem that I was always missing. It helped me to love what I see when I look in the mirror and everyone deserves that feeling. I’ve had to start this journey over so many times but I promise myself that I will never give up!” @__PrincessTiff
Oct 2016 – Congrats go out to Tiffany. She’s reached her goal of losing 100 pounds. Check out her update:
Months ago, when I first shared my weight loss story with Black Women Losing Weight, I was working toward the 100 lbs. goal. I wanted to give you all an update, because I am happy to say: I have officially lost 100 pounds! My highest weight was 265 pounds. I still maintain the same healthier lifestyle, that I have been constantly maintaining for 2years now. I stick with my rules of no fast food, no fried foods, no carbonated beverages, no sugary snacks (like brownies, cookies and ice cream), no bread, etc. Any and every snack that I have is always fat free/sugar free. I can admit that at times I get off track with my workout routine, but my goal is always to workout 3-4 times a week. I workout for an hour each time, starting with 15-30 mins of cardio.
Living a healthier lifestyle is not depriving, it’s rewarding because I love what I see when I look in the mirror. That’s worth everything to me! I have a blog, SincerelyTiffany, that contains a weight loss post. Instagram: @__PrincessTiff
April 2016 – Transformation of the Day: Tiffany lost 94 pounds. Throughout her life, she was unhappy with her weight. A desire to love herself more led her to cut out the junk food, embrace regular exercise and commit to being consistent with positive action. Check out what she shared about changing her life.
All my life, I’ve been unhappy with my weight. From a child to a teenager to an adult, my weight always was an issue for me. What inspired me to lose weight was the desire for “self-love”. I longed to love myself and to love what I saw when I looked in the mirror. That was truly my inspiration and motivation for weight loss.
I changed my eating habits by eliminating all fried foods, fast foods, and unhealthy snacks, such as Little Debbie’s and things like that. I switched over to only baking my foods. No pop or carbonated beverages. I switched to all fat free/sugar free snacks only.
I work out 4 days a week for an hour each time. I warm up with 20 minutes of cardio and the last 40 minutes of my workout is a mixture of machines.
The largest weight I ever reached was 265 pounds, but I started my journey at 257 pounds. Now, I have lost 94 pounds, weighing in at 171 pounds. My height is 5’2″. I’ve been transforming for about a year and three months.
My advice for other is simply consistency. Even when you aren’t receiving the results you are looking for, be patient and be consistent.
My Instagram is @__princesstiff and my blog is Sincerely Tiffany. I created this blog to encourage, inspire and motivate young women to love themselves. I wanted to share about the different hardships I’ve been through, so that I can give encouragement to the next young lady who maybe facing the same issues or something similar.
