Transformation of the Day: Tiffany lost 107 pounds. She refused to be unhappy, unhealthy or controlled by food addiction. After some trial and error, she found that portion control, calorie counting, interval training, and aerobics works for her. Check out her story.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation is and has always been to have a better quality of life. I noticed over the years that my health (mental, physical and financial) was paying a higher price because I was morbidly obese.
When I wanted to give up, I went back to my “Big Why.” I reminded myself I didn’t want to die unhappy, unfit, and controlled by food. Also, when I thought about giving in to “just one slice of cake,” I watched the show “My 600 Pound Life”. It motivates me and lets me see that addiction can be deadly.
How did you change your eating habits?
At first, I changed my eating habits by cutting out food groups. I went from extreme to extreme. I started by going vegan, which lasted about 3 months. Then, I switched to low carb for about 4 months. I even tried the carnivore diet/zero carbs. The change that I found works best for me is portion control thru calorie counting. I can have any food within my calorie count goals.
I also practice Intermittent Fasting. I fast for 16 hours and eat within my 8-hour window, which changes.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I began by walking at the park for 20 minutes, 5 days a week. I did that on and off over a year. Later on, I decided to workout 3 days a week doing HIIT, interval training, and aerobics ranging in time from 15 minutes to 30 minutes per session. I try different YouTube videos as well. That keeps me interested and not bored.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
The highest weight I remember is 355 pounds. My current weight is 248 pounds.
What is your height?
5’7″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on October 2, 2016. I am still working on getting to the healthiest version of myself, but my current transformation has taken 2 years and 3 months.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I haven’t had weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
My biggest lesson is that your current state is a direct result of your priorities. If you want to change, you must be willing to change your priorities.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
My humble advice: Pick something you can change today that will help you reach your goal. It could merely be drinking at least 64 oz of water, or making sure you get 7- 9 hours of rest. Then, build on those daily healthy habits.
Listen to your body and don’t be afraid to switch things up. Remember it’s your life.

WOW! You are doing great! You are my inspiration! Portion control works for me, but I keep thinking I need to do something more/different. You have inspired me to keep going with this plan and to remember that this is not a race! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
