Transformation of the Day: Tierra lost 59 pounds. This mom of five battled baby weight, depression and anxiety. Since December, she has worked to release the pounds and improve her health by exercising and eating right. Check out her weight loss journey.
I started gaining weight after I graduated from high school. I stopped being active and I gave birth to 5 children. The weight just piled up over the years. I
was very insecure about how big I was. I’ve always tried to lose weight in the past, but those trys always ended with me giving up.
What was your motivation?
What keeps me motivated is looking at other women on Instagram who are also on their own personal weight lost journey. I get tips from them as well. The guy I was dating was really into fitness and he motivated me a lot during this process.
How did you change your eating habits?
I gave up soda and only drank water. I also gave up red meat, fried food and fast food. I eat a lot of veggies, fish, chicken, turkey and fruit.
What did your workout routine look like?
I work out 5 days a week in the gym or at home. I run on the treadmill and I use elliptical machine or bikes.
Starting weight/Current weight
I started at 250 pounds and now I weigh 191 pounds. My height is 5’3″.
When did you start your transformation?
I started my weight loss journey in December 2016.
What advice would you give to other people who want to lose weight?
What I want to say to everyone who is trying to lose weight is don’t give up. You may fall 10 times, but get up 11. Your Health Matters. Before I lost weight, I battled anxiety and depression. Now, I’m in a much better place mentally.
