Blood Sugar
One of the most important benefits of Chia seeds has been the effect it has had on stabilizing insulin and blood sugar levels. For many diabetics, Chia is used in conjunction with diet, exercise and other treatments to control blood sugar levels. This helps to then regulate diabetes related conditions. Chia is being considered by some health experts as a natural treatment for type-2 diabetes, but does not yet have approval in the wider medical field or by the FDA. Chia works to slow the digestive process, which allows for the body to metabolize sugars and stabilize blood sugars and insulin levels on its own.
Create Healthier Bones
Chia seeds are high in calcium, manganese and phosphates, three of the most important building blocks of strong bones and teeth. Phosphorus is used by the body in converting proteins to help repair cells and tissues. The daily dose of Chia has almost 27% of the recommended daily allowance of Phosphorus. It also has almost 18% of the recommended daily allowance of Calcium. The combination of the three will help your body to remain strong and to repair tissues and cells damaged by the process of aging.

I use Chia seeds in my smoothies; however, sometimes I just eat them. I usually grind them with a coffee grinder but when my grinder went out I placed about a tablespoon of chia seeds in 3 tablespoons of water let it sit for a few minutes (they became very soft) put them in the blender with all my other ingridents. I was not aware of the health benefits-like with high blood pressure. I lost 10 pounds a was taken of of my medications I thought it was just that but now I am thinking it is a combination of the weight loss and the Chia seeds….
