Transformation of the Day: Terri lost 90 pounds with prayer, portion control, and exercise. This journey has taught her that she can truly do anything she puts her mind to.
Beginning Weight: 262 pounds
Current Weight: 172 pounds
Goal Weight: 160 pounds
What was your motivation?
My motivation was “ME.” I got tired of being overweight and not doing anything about it.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I thought about how I was starting to lose weight. The change was not only showing on the scale but also in how my clothes fit.
How did you change your eating habits?
Prayer was the number one thing I did. I also reduced my caloric intake significantly with portion control. I completely cut out bread and sodas and started drinking a gallon of water each day.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I started by walking for an hour each day, seven days a week. After some time, I added running to my routine. Today I’m also doing weight training for my arms, thighs, and back.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight is 262 pounds, and my current weight is 172 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5 feet, 3 inches tall.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in June 2019, and it took me 15 months.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
NO surgery for me.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Just because it’s on your plate, that doesn’t mean you have to eat it. I stop eating when my brain says I’m full, no matter what’s left on my plate.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
I would say that you can achieve anything that you put your mind to. Start small and increase your efforts gradually. NEVER GIVE UP!
