Update Dec 2015 – Tenesha sent in an update about her journey. She’s lost 45 pounds and 9 inches off her waist.
I have learned that you have to do what works for your body. Also, I’ve learned to take it one day at a time. Do not look for quick fixes! Work hard for what you want! Stay consistent! You will have mess ups, but it’s all about getting back on track. Remember why you started. I remember where I can from and remember not having the energy to play with my son because I was always tired. I just after having my son, I gained a little weight and was uncomfortable. I realized that I was the only one who could change what I was uncomfortable with. I have completely changed my mindset.
I still do a cheat meal once or twice a week. I also started fasting and cut all meals off by 6 pm or 7 pm. I also still use my Herbalife meal replacement shakes and supplements. Exercise: I have added weight training at home (dance, cardio, 2 sets of ankle weights, dumbbells, resistance band, medicine ball). I put together dance routines and do them daily. I drink only water (Sweet tea maybe once a month). No soda or juice. I have been helping others lose weight. My Mom has lost 16 lbs in a month! I’m currently working on trying to do group dance/fitness train part-time. I’m ready to show others that small changes can equal big results. New Instagram: @iam10_grant
May 2015 – Weight Loss Story of the Day: Tenesha wrote in to let us know that she’s lost 19 pounds and 5 1/2 inches off her waist in the past 9 weeks. She has been able to get off medication for cholesterol during this time as well. She is not at the end of her journey but she wanted to share her success to help motivate others.
My name is Tenesha Grant. I started my journey 9 weeks ago. I’ve lost 19 pounds and 5 1/2 inches off my waist. These are the pics from my journey so far. It doesn’t stop here! My biggest motivation is my son and LIVING! I went to my doctor last year and he told me that my cholesterol was through the roof. He said that I had to take medications to bring it down. The medication made me soooo sick. Since losing weight, no medication is needed and my CHOLESTEROL is DOWN!
I eat mostly chicken and fish, veggies and certain fruits. I have cut carbs down to 1 or 2 times a week, eating 50 to 100 grams. I am also taking Herbalife products to help train me to eat clean. For exercise, I dance for 30 to 60 minutes a day.
EAT CLEAN AND EXERCISE IS MY ADVICE. You have to change your mind set to change your life! It is not going to be easy or happen overnight, but think about why you started and get on track! I worked for a childhood obesity project about two years ago in my community and I love teaching children about the importance of exercise and nutrition. If we start teaching children in early childhood weight issues I won’t come be a problem in adulthood. That’s my outlook. Know the significance of being healthy. It’s all about 80% nutrition, 20% exercise and 100% MINDSET! Remember why you started. Let that be your drive, your push and YOUR SUCCESS!
Update June 2015: Thank you for sharing it on your page I just to motivate people and help them understand that it’s not about how fast you lose, but consistency. I’m currently down 30 pounds and 6 inches off my waist.
