Transformation of the Day: Teja lost 51 pounds. One day, she just didn’t recognize herself in the mirror and that was her wakeup call. Clean eating, exercise and a great support system has propelled this fit mom to achieve great results. Now, she is using her story to inspire others to change their lives as well. What was your motivation? What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
My motivation to lose weight is very simple. I looked in the mirror one day and I didn’t recognize myself. That to me was a true eye-opener. When I wanted to give up, I’d often look towards the people who held me accountable. I looked at my Instagram followers who are following my journey and holding me accountable of every single action. I looked at my husband who was rooting for me, and I wanted to make him proud. I also looked toward my two little girls who look at me and who believe that I can achieve everything. I did not want to let them down.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating habits were extremely horrible. I stumbled across a program on Instagram called the Fit Girls Guide and it has been my saving grace. I stopped eating anything that is processed. I also cut out all sweets, soda and sweet tea. Oh and let me not forget, I cut out fast food and fried food too. After I cut out the junk food, I basically started to shop the perimeter of the store. I ate lots of fruit and drank 82oz of water each day.
What did your workout routines look like?
My workout routine consists of using the elliptical four times a week for an hour long session. Then, I will do some weight training. I repeated that cycle for 236 plus days!

When I started, back in January, I weighed 235 pounds at 5’7″. I now weigh 184 pounds. All together, I’ve lost 51 pounds. No surgery, pills or supplements. If I happen to have excess skin after my journey is over and I’m content where I am, I will just deal with it. I’ve worked too hard to even think about surgery.
How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on January 4, 2016. It took me nine months to lose 50 pounds and I’m still a work in progress.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
For anyone who is trying to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle, my advice to you would be as follows; You have to be ready when you start. This journey is a lifestyle change not a diet. You have to understand that there will be times when you going to fail or want to start over, and
that’s OK.
Also, people don’t understand that water is key! You have to drink a lot of water, because you need to flush your system and keep your digestive track moving! You do not need pills to achieve a healthy lifestyle transformation. Yes, I am against weight loss shakes too. Why? Because you can do this just by eating clean.
