Transformation of the Day: Teariea lost 71 pounds. She wanted to create a healthy lifestyle and lay the foundation to be a healthy mom in the future. She started her journey in 2016 and worked to release the weight on her own. This year, she opted for weight loss surgery and chronicled her journey by vlogging. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation is to be healthy. When I decide to start a family, I want to make sure that my unborn child will be healthy!
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I’ve been on my journey overall since December of 2016. I initially told myself to try it out for two weeks straight and I didn’t stop.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Yes, I had vertical sleeve gastrectomy on March 5th 2018. When I started my journey in December of 2016, I told myself that if I couldn’t lose 30 pounds I’d get the procedure. I lost 25 pounds by myself. (Probably more, because I gained a lot of muscle.) I decided to move forward with getting VSG and I shared my experience on my YouTube channel. So far, it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life.
How did you change your eating habits?
My eating habits are kind of weird (Well, to me anyway). It’s a mixture of Keto and high protein. I stopped eating more than 50 grams of carbs a day. That has really helped out.
What did your workout routine look like?
I work out about 4 to 5 times a week. My workout is a mixture of cardio and weight lifting. I used to lift heavy, but now I like light weights.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 288 pounds and my current weight is 217 pounds.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
That I was more insecure than what I thought
What advice do you have for other people who want to lose weight?
It’s a slow process. You can not expect the weight to fly off. Sometimes it’s better for things to move slow. Just don’t give up!
