Tammy lost 25 pounds. She had chest pains, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Ready to make a change, she reached out to a weight loss coach for help and got the support she needed. Check out her story.
My name is Tammy and I’m 49 years old. My motivation is being healthy. I had visions of being toned and losing weight. I tried so many weight loss programs in the past that worked, but eventually I would gain it all back. That was frustrating for me.
People would tell me, “Girl, you look fine. There’s nothing wrong with your weight.”, but I wasn’t comfortable with myself. I was having chest pains, my cholesterol was at 190 and my blood pressure was 158/102. My numbers were high. I would look at myself in the mirror and say, “I need to change and become mentally disciplined and focused.” I began removing all the negative vibes and putting friends on the back burner.
When did you start your journey?
I started my weight loss journey on May 3, 2018. My energy level was very high and determination kicked in for me. My transformation took 35 days. I started seeing progress during the first two weeks. Working out became a regular routine for me.
How did you change your eating habits?
I also connected with Terry Starks on Facebook. I sent him a picture, and he used body fame and my weight to create my plan. I devoted myself to that plan. He sends me meal plans every week and emails me spiritual words of encouragement everyday. When I thought about giving up, that email was everything to me. It kept me going.
No pork, junk food, juice or soda. I started eating five times a day, mostly fish, chicken and vegetables. I totally gave up going out to eat.
What did your workout routine look like?
I worked out 7 days a week for 35 minutes.
What was your statring weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 217 pounds, and now I weigh 192 pounds. My height is 5’5″. When I lost the weight, I lost my stomach fat too. No diet pills or supplements… just healthy food.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned take better care my health. I never eat foods that will cause high cholesterol and high blood pressure because those conditions will just result in me taking medicine for the rest of my life.
What advice would you share with people who want to lose weight?
Take time out for yourself. Pay attention to how your body reacts to certain foods. Get into meditating, relax and focus on becoming the new person you want to be. Never give up on your goals. Determination is there. All you have to do is just step out on faith.
