What was your motivation? What inspired you when you wanted to give up?
I wanted to be able to find balance in my whole self. Mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. I’ve accomplished a lot at 30 years old, and I wanted to accomplish better integrative wellness.
I decided to have Vertical sleeve gastrectomy weight loss surgery in late October 2016. The procedure was done by Dr. Alex Gandsas in Maryland.
How did you change your eating habits?
I ate a high protein/low carb due to bariatric surgery, but aside from that I was not on a particular “diet”.
What did your workout routine look like?
I workout 4-5 times per week. My workouts include cardio and strength training for 45-75 minutes per session.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started this journey at my highest weight of 232 pounds. My current weight is 156 pounds. My height is 4’9″.
When did you start your journey?
It began in March 2016 and it has been an on going lifestyle change that I continue to embrace.
What advice do you have for other women who want to lose weight?
Push through. The results will come if you put in the work. Work on your whole self so that if you address the physical, your issues don’t manifest in other areas.
