Transformation of the Day: Sylmoneyvesta lost 45 pounds. She was depressed and unhappy due to her weight for many years. After graduating from college and moving to a new city for a new job, she decided that it was time for a fresh start. She got results by focusing on nutrition. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even during the tough times?
I’ve spent many years unhappy with myself and depressed because of my weight and appearance. When I graduated from college last year (May 2017), I was at my highest weight, 245 pounds. That drove me deeper into my depression.
Once I graduated and moved to a new city to teach, I took that as my opportunity for a fresh start. I decided to change the trajectory of my health and life. It hasn’t been an easy journey, and there were many times when I would cheat on my plans and want to give up. However, I used progress photos of myself to keep me on track and remind me of my goals.
How did you change your eating habits?
When I got started, I slowly started cutting back on foods I was obsessed with (like junk food, snacks, fast food, and Starbucks). I started cleaning up my portion sizes, and I even experimented with different lifestyles. (Paleo, Keto, Pescatarian, etc.)
What is your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started my journey at 245 pounds, and I currently weigh 200 pounds. I am 5’5″.
How long did your transformation take?
It took me about 2 months to see that I’d lost about 20 pounds. Now, almost a year later, I have lost 45lbs. Initially, my weight loss was primarily the result of changes to my nutrition. However, I knew that if I wanted to see more significant results, I would need to incorporate a strict fitness routine. I struggled with this for months and tried many different things, but once I started to see the fruit of my labor, it got easier.
I’ve been able to maintain my weight loss and see continued results with my use of Herbalife products. My experiences and my progress keeps me motivated along this journey. I hold myself accountable by serving as an inspiration to others.
My ultimate goal is to empower and inspire others, especially women and teens, to make a commitment to themselves to change their lives by improving their health. I decided to become a wellness coach, and I’m working hard to empower others to achieve their definition of success.
