Update August 2020: Stephanie shared an update on our FB group.
“I’ve lost over 60 pounds by intermittent fasting and plant based eating! Just want to post this as a reminder to everyone to keep going!”
Transformation of the Day: Stephanie lost 45 pounds. She transformed her lifestyle with intermittent fasting, exercise, and by becoming a vegan. Her health has dramatically improved since she embraced a plant-based diet.
I started my weight loss journey in September 2016. I began by working out, practicing intermittent fasting, and giving up eating meat. There were bumps in the road, and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t difficult, but it was well worth it! I knew that my goal was to become a vegan.
In April 2018, I threw out all the foods in my kitchen that contained any animal products and never looked back. My intermittent schedule was 7 am-5 pm because I was working in an office. I still continue to practice IF. My current schedule is 12 pm-6 pm.
After I became a vegan, the chronic headaches I once had on and off for ten years instantly went away. I have more energy, my skin cleared up, and my blood pressure issues were resolved. My digestion was better, my cramps disappeared, and my endurance in the gym is MUCH better. My body is now finally working the way it should without any animal products. In general, I took a more natural holistic approach to life. I’ve never felt this good!
What was your motivation? What inspires you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation was knowing that I didn’t feel good about my body and the way I looked in clothes. I knew I was young, and if I continued on that path, my weight would continue to haunt me.
What inspires me is knowing how great I feel now, how much energy I have, how great I look in clothes, and how I can be an inspiration to others. When I want to give up, I remember how far I’ve come and how much more I want to accomplish.
What did your workout routine consist of?
My workout consisted of yoga two times a week, combined with cardio and weight training. I work out four times a week in total.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 213 pounds, and my current weight is 168 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’8″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is you have to take steps every day to achieve your goal. Also, it’s a marathon, not a race.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
Do not give up, and do not compare your journey to anyone else’s. Your journey is your journey. Create short term goals and don’t give up if it’s happening fast enough. Be patient and be positive.
