Weight Loss Story of the Day: Stephanie lost 45 pounds. She wants other women to know that it can be done without killing yourself in the gym, without starving yourself and without ditching all the foods you love. By making the decision to eat less and move more, she was able to fully commit to change and release the weight. Here is what she shared with us…
I was motivated to lose weight for a few reasons. I hated the way that EVERYTHING in my closet fit me. I hated that I had to moan/groan and was out of breath after doing simple, everyday things, like getting up off of the floor or walking up a flight of stairs. Also, I was starting to get blurry vision and really bad headaches every time I ate sugar.
So, the first thing I did was ditch sugar and find sugar free versions of all my favorite things. I lost 5 pounds just by saying goodbye to sugar. Next, I started eating at home more often. Lastly, I started walking as often as I could. I walked 30 minutes to an hour, 3 to 4 times weekly.
I started my journey in January 2015 at 228 pounds (I’m 5’6″ tall). Now, I’m down 45 pounds, with a current weight of 183 pounds! I still have 25 pounds to go, but I wanted to share my story to let other women know that it can be done without killing yourself in the gym and without starving yourself. I still eat fast food. I still eat fried food. I still go out to eat with my girls and I NEVER order a salad! I hate salads! You don’t need crazy fad diets either.
Also, I have NEVER stepped foot in a gym. I’ve lost every pound by doing exercise DVDs and walking at home. I intentionally did it this way to show women that you don’t need a expensive gym membership or fancy program to lose weight. All you need is a new mindset and a pair of sneakers!
Try something that you’ll be able to stick with. Eat less and move more. Even if all you do is walk, Move! You can do this ladies! Good luck and God bless!
