Transformation of the Day: Sophia lost 70 pounds after starting her journey in August 2021. This mother of two tracked her food intake, remade recipes to make them healthier, and researched workouts that would help her transform her shape.
I am down 70 pounds in 7 months, from August 2021 to today. I went from wearing a 3X or bigger down to a Medium/Large top and Large pants.
I did this all-natural and by myself by researching my body type and workouts that would give me an hourglass shape.
My starting weight was 277 pounds. Now, I weigh 207 pounds. My motivation was my family and my lack of confidence with my husband. I have a history of trauma and abuse, and I wanted to be strong. I found out I have a binge eating disorder, and that was also something I needed to get control of.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started tracking my food with the free LoseIt App and swapping foods for healthier alternatives. I now eat high protein, moderate carbs, and lower fat each day. I remade a lot of recipes to be healthier, and I share them for others to use and get help.
I eat 80% clean and 20% dirty or out to eat. During this journey, I didn’t give up if I fell off track. Instead, I’d wake up the next day and start again—That’s how I’ve made it this far.
What is your workout routine?
I work out 4-6 times a week. I run for cardio one day a week and do heavy lifting the other days. My rest days involve yoga.
What is your height?
I’m 5 feet, 6 inches tall.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No. I don’t plan on having any surgery because of the side effects.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice is to learn to make comfort foods at home and keep trying. Even if you fall off track or go on a vacation, get back to it.
