Sonya lost 18 pounds. After realizing she was gaining weight quickly, she went to her doctor for answers and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. She worked out and took charge of her eating habits by counting calories and tracking her macros.
I gained weight at an alarming rate. That concerned me, so I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
I was placed on medication and told that I would have to take it for the rest of my life. I have been on this medication and gaining weight for nine years. I weighed 145 pounds before I was diagnosed. I gained 48 pounds and ended up at 193 pounds. Then I decided that I had to make a change.
In June, I received a video of me dancing, and I was floored at how I
looked. I took it upon myself at that moment to make a change.
I went to the grocery store and started right away. I began to research weight loss and healthy foods. During my research, I discovered how to count macros and calories. I found a workout plan, and I started putting together meal plans that I could follow.
I meal prep, count macros, and go to the gym 5 to 6 days a week. I
increased my water intake, and I cut out fast foods and sodas as well.
Since June 2019, I’ve lost 18 lbs. I have 15 more to go before I reach my goal.
This is a start, and I am so motivated to make it happen. Thank you all for this group. It helps inspire me.
