Transformation of the Day: Sloane lost 75 pounds. This mom wanted a better quality of life for her and her children, and she wanted to beat diabetes. After years of trying, she found the tools she needed to create a healthier lifestyle. Intermittent fasting is a crucial part of her plan.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
My motivation to start losing weight was a desire to have a better quality of life and be here for my children. I was diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago, and I wanted to get rid of that. After yo-yo dieting on and off for years, I finally found the tools for my success!
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits using intermittent fasting: OMAD – one meal a day and alternate-day fasting. I significantly reduced my red meat intake, reduced my sugar intake, eliminated dairy products, bread, and pasta. In addition, I drink half my body weight in ounces of water per day.
What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I work out approximately two times a week using YouTube workouts, and I take frequent walks.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 285 pounds, and my current weight is 210 pounds.
What is your height?
My height is 5’4″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey around August 2020. My transformation took approximately eight months. (There were gaps due to medical issues and steroid use for Covid pneumonia)
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I considered weight loss surgery as a last resort, but I wanted to give it my all naturally first.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned so far is that I was in my own way! Once I changed my way of thinking about food and changed my eating habits, the weight started melting off. I’m much more disciplined now.
What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
My advice to other women considering weight loss is don’t overthink it. Just go for it! Don’t make another excuse! Find what works for you and stick to it!
