What was your motivation?
To live a healthier lifestyle for my family and me, live longer, and heal from the loss of my child/grief.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
When I thought about my WHY, it was living healthier and longer for my family and me, coping with grief, and having discipline. So even when I didn’t want to, I still did it anyway. Also, I wanted to be able to motivate others through it all.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started by controlling my portion sizes and picking healthier, more yummy options of the food that I enjoy eating. Then I started meal prepping a week in advance, which really helped control my eating habits… particularly when I finish working out and I’m hungry.
What is your workout routine?
To shed the weight, I initially started with cardio (Outdoor running and running on the treadmill – 30 to 50 mins). Then, I did 20 to 30 minutes of strength training (weight lifting, dumbells, kettlebells, etc.)
To tone up, I currently do 20 mins of cardio, 30 mins of strength training, 10 mins of core exercise, and 10 mins of stretching.

How often did you work out?
I work out five days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight? My starting weight was 84kg, and my current weight is 73kg.
What is your height? 5’3″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I began in February 2020 and lost 13kg by May – 3 months. (83kg to 70kg) I kept the weight off.
I got pregnant in July 2021 and lost my baby in February 2022. I focused on using fitness to manage my grief and lose the baby weight, which was the most challenging part. I went from 84kg to 73kg from March to July (4 months).
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, it is not.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I need to prioritize my health and well-being first because if I can show up for myself, I can’t show up for anything.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
- Find and understand your WHY first.
- Be mentally prepared and fully ready.
- Take it a day at a time.
- Pace yourself. Don’t go too fast, too soon.
- Set a small target for yourself.
- Don’t compare your progress with someone else’s. Our bodies are different, and this is your unique journey.
- Believe you can do it and do it afraid
- Remember, you are worth it, and I am rooting for you.
