In 2012, I knew I had to make a change. I wasn’t eating right and wasn’t going to the gym. One day, a very close friend of mine shared me with me that she had a severe medical condition. I knew right then and there that I had to do something for myself.
Don’t get me wrong; it’s a struggle. I know that if I stay consistent, I will see results.
What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Seeing other people take steps to lose weight. I never gave up because I knew that in the long run, my efforts would benefit me in the future.

First, I started juicing. Later on, I started intermittent fasting.
What did your workout routine consist of?
I worked out 3 to 4 times a week and did a lot of cardio.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 311 pounds, and my current weight is 230 pounds. I have set a new goal that I’m currently trying to accomplish. My new goal is to lose 50 lbs. I hope that my transformation inspires someone.
What is your height?
My height is 5’5″.
How long did your transformation take?
It took me three years to get the weight off because there were times when I stumbled, and everyone has hard days.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson that I learned is that if you want to accomplish something, it is mind over matter.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Keep going. The good days will outweigh the bad days. Keep going because you never know who you are going to inspire.
