Transformation of the Day: Sheslie lost 40 pounds. Her journey wasn’t just about weight. It’s about happiness, loving herself, and learning to be patient on this journey. She overcame binge eating, tamed her sweet tooth, and worked out consistently.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I hated how I looked in the mirror and photos. It got so bad to the point where I couldn’t recognize myself!
How did you change your eating habits?
I had such a bad sweet tooth before I started this journey. I started eating less and cut back on sweets. I ate more veggies, beans, fruit… basically more nutritious food, and I maintained a caloric deficit!
What did your workout routine consist of?
I did lots of cardio, mostly HIIT workouts, and of course, weight training!
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I started at 190 pounds, and now I weigh 150 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’4″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started in August 2020, so it’s been about eight months.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson is just learning to love myself and being patient with this journey. It wasn’t even just about weight loss alone because I’m so much happier now that I stopped binge eating. I stopped feeling the need to eat so much junk all day long. I also started working out more consistently, and exercise is fun for me now.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Just be patient with yourself! Don’t put a timeline on your journey because that’s what causes frustration. The time is going to fly by, so you might as well keep going on this journey!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No surgery!
