Transformation of the Day: Sherita lost 93 pounds. She started her journey 2 years ago after a sunday morning photo wake up call. Through exercising, clean eating, dedication and prayer, this mom changed her life. Check out her story.
I started my journey in November of 2014. It was a typical Sunday morning and I was getting dressed for church. I asked my son to take my picture. I took so many different photos at different angles. I looked at the photos and that’s when I finally realized that my weight had gotten out of control. I started working out the very next day.
My main motivation was my children. I wanted to be healthy for them. I thought, if my health fails me it won’t be because of something I have complete control over. I always do comparison photos which inspires me to keep going when the numbers on the scale doesn’t move.
I stopped eating junk foods and start replacing my sweets with fruits. Eventually, I became I pescatarian [vegetarian who eats seafood] which made me feel better and also aided in me losing even more weight. I do cardio at least 5 days a week and have recently started strength training.
Standing at 5’6″ tall, my starting weight was 266 pounds and my current weight is 173 pounds. My goal is to be between 145 and 150 pounds. It has been almost two years since I started and I’m still going strong. I achieved my weight loss through exercising, clean eating, dedication and prayer. No weight loss surgery, no shakes, no tea, no waist trainers, etc. That is what worked for me.
My advice for others is to do your research and do what works for YOU. Be patient and realize that gaining the weight didn’t happen overnight and losing it won’t happen that way either. It’s a process, but you must keep going.
