Transformation of the Day: Sharonda lost 67 pounds. She worked hard in school, graduated, and got a great job, but she wasn’t able to fully enjoy her life or feel good in her skin. She embraced a plant based lifestyle and did lots of cardio to release the weight. Check out her journey.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I was getting ready to graduate college, and I had a size 10 dress I wanted to fit into. I bought this $400 dress because I felt like I accomplished something. It was my time to treat myself.
Around this same time, I got a new job and had to have some tests done I order to work. During a full body X-Ray, I noticed how small my bones where. I thought to myself that my tiny bones had to be working overtime to support me. It was then that I knew I had to rid myself of the weight I was carrying.
Our bodies and bones are not built to sustain heavy weight. With this in mind, I set out to better my body, clear my mind, and love myself harder than anyone ever has. (Including me). Now, I feel cozy in my own skin, and I admire my hard work and dedication. I realize that I was lazy when it came to taking care of my shell. I worked and went to school to maintain a lifestyle, but couldn’t live it. I’ve truly changed my life for the better.
How did you change your eating habits?
It’s easy and foolish to think that just changing some eating habits will present effective change or visible change. I had to change my lifestyle instead. I’ve gone from meat eater to vegetarian, and from vegetarian to vegan.
Tell us about your workout routine.
I did Cardio, cardio, and more cardio to get the heart pumping.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 216 pounds, and now I weigh 149 pounds. My height is 5’7 1/2″.
How long did your transformation take?
From March 2018 to October 2018. No surgery involved.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Real results take real effort.
What advice do you have for other people who want to lose weight?
Believe you can, and then do! You’ll fall short but don’t stay there. Even if you “cheat for a week,” don’t let that completely turn you around or make you quit
