Transformation of the Day: ShaRonda lost 153 pounds. This devoted mom not only wanted to live a long life and raise her son, but she wanted to inspire her family members who were watching. She shared with us the steps she took to release the weight and keep it off.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I wanted to be able to live to raise my son. I was motivated by my will to live and the fact that I had family members watching me. My journey inspired them to get motivated.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started by cutting out red meat. Then I did the Weight Watchers program and went to nutrition classes.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
My journey began in 2011, and it took about 2 to 3 yrs to get the weight off.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Yes, I had the Lap-Band in 2011 and have been working to keep the weight off ever since.
How often did you work out?
I worked out 3 to 4 times a week.
What is your workout routine?
I would walk with friends every other day for about 45 minutes and dance with my son at night.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 330 pounds, and I now weigh 177 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’4″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that self-motivation is the best motivation!
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Get inspired, remember to love yourself first, and don’t give up.
