Sharon lost 46 pounds. She’s gone from a size 18/20 to a size 12/14. She is still on her journey, but she is not waiting until some end date to celebrate her success and feel great. Check out what she did to lose the pounds.
I found my motivation in March 2015 as I was preparing to get ready for church one sunday morning. My church suit was too tight and I got very frustrated with myself while getting dressed. From that day forward, I told myself I’ve got to make a change. What inspired me when I want to give up was rewarding myself with new clothes. I love the way my clothes fit now. I was wearing 18/20W before and now I’m buying a size 12/14. In some pants, I can wear a size 8/10. It’s a great feeling to drop those dress sizes.
I totally changed my eating habits. I loved starchy foods before. Now, I eat grilled chicken or fish and lots of green vegetables. I was never a big vegetable eater and now that’s all I eat. I cut out all sugary drinks and only drink water now. I also don’t eat any fast food. Everything I eat is all natural. I didn’t follow a weight loss program or take diet pills.
I workout twice daily, 5 days a week. In the early mornings, I go to a wellness center and do strength training, climb stairs and lift weights. Then, in the afternoon, I walk 5 miles.
When you have made up mind it can be done. My starting weight was 224 pounds and my current weight is 178 pounds. My height is 5’3″. I got serious in March 2015 and I’ve been working since then. I still have a ways to go, but I’m very determined to reach my goals.
My advice to others: Don’t give up! Keep going! I know this road is tough, but think about the rewards to come. Treat yourself to a new outfit, because we work hard with this journey and we deserve special rewards. I can tell you that hard, dedicated, aggressive, determination will pay off. I’m so much happier now.
