Transformation of the Day: Sharon lost 135 pounds. She is a single mom who wanted to have health and longevity for the benefit of her child. Her best friend is a personal trainer and he helped her to release the weight through eating habits and exercise.
Hi, I’m Sharon. I’m 34 years old and single mother of one. I started my weight loss journey in 2014. I was suffering with very high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and I could barely breathe. It took my best friend and personal trainer, Gemlike Broussard (@ironking82), to help me get on the road to greater health. He motivated me and pushed me. Even when I felt like giving up, he was there. “I Can’t” wasn’t a option in his vocabulary.
With his help, I’ve gone from 385 pounds to 250 pounds. I am 5’8″ tall. I now eat better, exercise daily, and encourage others with words of motivation to get started. I have never felt so good all these years. My blood pressure is stable now, and my cholesterol is on the right path. It has taken almost 3 years to better myself and every day is still a struggle.
What inspired me to keep going was my desire to get healthy to be around for my daughter for years to come.
I changed my eating habits mainly eating protein (chicken) and vegetables. I cut back on carbs, sugar, and snacks. I also drink a lot of water.
I have the best trainer in Houston. He pushed me every day to be a better me. I worked out everyday, and the workouts were very intense. We did every workout you could think of. The workouts included a lot of cardio, as well as powerlifting and bench work.
The advice I have for people who are trying to change their lives and lose weight is simply don’t give up. Stay motivated, be dedicated and you will get there. Push yourself! No matter how much you want to give up, don’t.
