What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up
My children and my grandchildren inspired me to keep going and never give up. I come from a family plagued with obesity, high pressure, and heart failure. Therefore, when I finally made my mind up to change my life, I committed 100% to my health, healing myself, and becoming a better person for my family!
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by slowly omitting things from my diet and ultimately becoming a Vegan. I also practice intermittent fasting anywhere from 18-20 hours per day!
What is your workout routine?
I walk three miles a day, do low-impact cardio, and weight train.
How often did you work out?
I work out 4-5 times per week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 317 pounds, and my current weight is 167 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’7″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started this journey in 2014, and my initial weight loss of 120lbs took approximately 10-12 mos. My last 31 pounds took approximately three months.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I did not have weight loss surgery. However, I recently had plastic surgery to remove stubborn fat and excess skin left from my weight loss journey.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to be patient and consistent! Stick to your plan, and the weight will come off! There will be plateaus. However, you WILL overcome them!
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
My advice for women to lose weight would be to commit, cut, and move!
- Commit – Commit to yourself to changing your lifestyle and losing weight. Then make the necessary changes to do so!
- Cut – Start by eliminating one thing from your diet, then two things, and keep going until you find a diet that works for you!
- Move – You have to exercise to lose weight and keep it off! Exercise a minimum of 30-45 mins/day! Start by waking 30 minutes a day. It’s one of the best exercises for you, and it’s free!
