Transformation of the Day: Sharice lost 112 pounds. This mom of five was plagued with many health issues, including high blood pressure and hypertension. She learned that weight release is 80% eating habits and 20% exercise. Check out her story.
My name is Sharice Miller, I live in Houston, TX, My motivation was my health and my children. Over the years, I have been plagued with some serious health issues such as: Chronic high blood pressure, cardiomyopathy, intracranial hypertension and arthritis. I am a single parent to five wonderful children. My children’s fathers are deceased, so I am all they have. That is what made me focus on my health and myself. I want to be around to watch all my children grow up and have families of their own.
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by adopting a Paleo diet, eliminating pork and beef and also utilizing JJ Smith’s 10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse. I specifically have been on a modified version of the smoothie cleanse since February 2016, along with daily meal prep for my meals.
What did your workout routines look like?
My workout routine includes a variety of things. I utilized HIIT training, weights, core workouts, cycling, jogging and lots of walking. At my peak, I was averaging over 20K steps per day and worked out a minimum of two hours a day, five to six days a week.
Starting weight/Current weight
My staring weight was 283 pounds. I currently weigh 171 pounds. I am 5’7″.
How long did your transformation take?
I started this journey in March 2015. However I lost most of my weight from January 2016 through current. In that 9 month time frame, I lost 71 pounds. No weight loss surgery, just hard work, dedication, and commitment.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
My advice for anyone who wants to lose weight is to focus on your diet. Weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. A good clean diet that is high in protein and low in sugar, carbs, and fat is key in losing weight and maintaining weight loss. As far as exercise, commit to 30-60 min a day and mix it up…Strength training, cardio, and core. However, if you can’t do that just get up and go walk!
