What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I have Lupus and Sjögren’s. I’m a wife and mama of five maintaining my health is to support myself and them. They are always watching, and I tell them how they can do anything and how it’s important to take care of yourself, so I have to lead by example.
I got tired of not recognizing myself. Losing over 200 pounds across five kids is insane but attainable when done correctly.
How did you change your eating habits?
I’m a certified holistic nutritionist. I’m also certified in environmental today and gut health. I didn’t cut out foods. I eat for my hormonal type. I created a customized program by paying attention to my body, cravings, and energy levels.
What is your workout routine?
I walked a couple times a week. I just started weight training today. Most people don’t realize walking is the best thing for your body.
How often did you work out?
I walk for 15-30 minutes three to four times a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
After baby #5, I was 193 pounds, and today I’m 129 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’3″.
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I lost the weight in 5 1/2 months. I had inflammation, found out I had Sjögren’s, and gained 30 pounds due to meds. I restructured my program, came off meds, and lost the weight in a few months.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Diet has the word die in it for a reason. It’s important to stop waiting for the perfect time or a health scare. We can make excuses daily, but we can’t heal from a grave.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Stop being influenced by people preying on you and the very things that make you feel uncomfortable. Losing weight is not hard. Changing your habits and mindset is. Anyone can lose weight, but what’s hard is having sustainable weight release where you don’t have to keep starting over.
