Transformation of the Day: Sharee lost 58 pounds. After she gave birth to her son in January 2019, she started her journey to become a healthy and fit mom for her children. She got results by figuring out what healthy habits work for her, like maintaining a calorie deficit and doing cardio.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
I just wanted to feel GOOD! I’m a young woman, and I was having pains in my back and knees. I knew it was my body telling me, “It’s time to do something…NOW!” I had my son in January 2019, and I have two other small children. I knew that being at my best HEALTH wise would also mean being my BEST as a mother.
How did you change your eating habits?
I try to stick with low carb foods. I mostly focus on calories in, calories out, i.e. staying in a calorie deficit! I enjoy all foods, but I make sure it fits into my calorie intake goals. I also drink a gallon of water daily.
What did your workout routine look like? How often did you workout?
For now, I focus on cardio and walking/jogging on the treadmill. I usually do between 35-45 minutes on treadmill 3-5 days a week. I also enjoy walks outside with my family. We have many hills in our neighborhood.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I weighed 310 pounds. My current weight is 252 pounds.
What is your height?
I am 5’8″.
When did you start your journey?
My journey started the day I had my son, which was January 16, 2019.
I have been on my journey for the whole year of 2019. I still have more work to do in 2020! This is a never-ending journey!
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I have not had any weight loss surgery.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I learned that this is a LIFE long journey! I am learning a new way to eat. I am learning portion control and how to enjoy ALL foods in a healthy way. I may not always have the motivation, but determination and consistency is key to my weight loss!
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Figure out what works for YOU! I know there are many excellent weight loss programs out there, but you have to find the one that best suits you and your lifestyle. Also, never compare yourself to someone else! Just because one particular way worked for someone else, it’s okay if it’s not right for you!
