Update June 2020: Shout out to Shantè. She lost 25 more pounds for a total of 68.4 pounds gone.
I’m now 68.4 pounds down! ALWAYS do what works for you! When you’re not seeing the results that you’d like to see, change the plan…NEVER the goal! I do my own research, reach out and ask questions when necessary. Educating yourself when it comes to your health and wellness is important!
Transformation of the Day: Shantè lost 43 pounds by following a Ketogenic diet and practicing intermittent fasting. During her journey, she learned that she was addicted to sugar and carbs. She educated herself on the healthy eating habits she needed to adopt to release the weight.
I have been doing Keto and have lost 43 pounds. I feel better. I look better, and I pray that I can help others make the same progress.
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going when you wanted to give up?
My motivation for losing weight is my family. When I want to give up, I think about how weighing 252 pounds put me in a place where I was unhappy with myself.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started Keto, barely knowing anything about it. I started by cutting out bread, pasta, and grains in the beginning. Eventually, after educating myself a little more, I cut out sugar and began intermittent fasting. That’s when I started to see more results. My carb allowance started at 25 grams net carbs per day, and now I take in less than 18 grams per day.

What did your workout routine consist of?
In the beginning, I did tons of cardio. After plateauing, I incorporated strength training into my routine. I worked out three days a week.
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 252 pounds, and my current weight is 209 pounds.
What is your height?
I’m 5’3”.
When did you start your journey?
I started my journey on November 1, 2019. I started seeing results after three weeks.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
I’ve learned that I was horribly addicted to sugar and carbs. Food is FUEL. Over-fueling something can cause significant problems.
What advice do you have for people who want to lose weight?
The advice I would give others is to set goals and stick to them. Even when the compliments stop, you must remind yourself that these are your goals. Do what makes you happy. A little progress is still progress. Celebrate every victory, both large and small!
