Today’s Featured Before and After comes from Shanta who has lost 60 pounds this year!
“I started my journey to get healthy and fit in late March of this year. Since March, I have lost 58.8 pounds. My starting weight was 276 pound and now I weigh 216 pounds. (I just weighed myself) So, all together I’ve lost 60 pounds. Wow! I’m so happy. I only have 12 more pounds to go to reach my short term goal.
I did this with no gym. I did it by counting calories, using portion control and working out 4 to 5 times a week. I also participated in my first 5K ever in August! My family played a big part in my transformation. My two boys and my husband have been a wonderful support system. I still have a ways to go before I reach my goal, but I’m so happy about how far I have come. Thank you for letting me share.”

What type of home exercise did you do. Did you reduce carbs and sweets
Shanta says
At first I just start walking. Then after that walking turned in to jogging then running thats when I did my first 5k ever in August. I started doing Jullian Michaels 30 day sherd and adding jump roping to my routine. Im using a app call lose it, it helps me with my calorie count and also I do portion control cause I see this as a life change, so I don’t deprive myself, so I have sweets every once in a while. I do love my 100 calories snacks that way I don’t feel like Im over doing it 🙂
