Starting weight: 300+ pounds
Current weight: 178 pounds
I will never forget being told, “You are too big. The safety harness won’t fit.” I really wanted to rock repeal with my daughter, but I was told that I weighed too much for the safety requirements. I knew then that something had to change! I started this journey at somewhere over 300 pounds. I quickly found that I couldn’t do it alone, so I sought out help. I found someone who helped me understand clean eating and fitness. Now, I have developed a serious love for fitness, even running and especially weight lifting. I couldn’t imagine my life any other way. I hope to inspire others and help be a light in anyway possible!
What inspired you?
Due to the loss of my mother I always feared that I would die at a young age. I finally stopped living in fear of dying and decided to live until I died.
How did you change your eating habits?
I started with the Weight Watchers program, and then moved into clean eating 80/20% of the time. I am primary free of all breads, dairy and fried foods.
What did your workout routines look like?
I love lifting weights and have started to take up running. I can’t say that I enjoy running, but I do love getting medals!
Weight and Height:
When I started my journey, I weighed around 300 pounds. My weight was about 290 pounds. when I finally was brave enough to get on the scale. My current weight is 178 pounds and my height is 5’11”.
How long did your transformation take?
It took about 2 years to lose the weight and I’ve kept it off for over a year.
What advice do you have for others who want to lose weight?
Keep going! You will fall, you will eat things you shouldn’t. Find a supportive community and latch on. This is a marathon, no need to sprint.

You made a step in the right direction just by reaching out for help on this thread. CONGRATULATIONS on that alone! When my family became ill (rheumatism, cancer, PCOS) I started researching on my own the best NATURAL/organic foods to eat and drink (Lemon or cucumber water:BOMB.com!)…now…I can hardly eat junk as I know that’s where disease stems from. You’re not alone. I have 50 more lbs to go and am eating Tabouli for dinner tonight….You already have everything you need to be successful Ensa!!! 🙂
