Transformation of the Day: Sarah lost 48 pounds. After losing her mom to cancer she committed to living a healthier lifestyle in her memory. With clean eating, weight training and positive choices, she transforming her body. Check out what she shared with us.
Greetings! My name is Sarah R. I’m 5’4″ and my starting weight, at my heaviest, was close to 212 pounds. Now, I weigh 164 pounds.
I made the decision to lose the weight after losing my mom from cancer a couple of years ago. Her spirit drove me to work hard and achieve a healthier body. I’ve made a lot of progress and because of my mom, I’m forever grateful for this journey.
I made better choices with the foods I eat. No fried foods, no sweets, no juice, no soda and no alcohol. I eat lots of clean, whole foods and drink plenty of water daily.
My workout routines consisted of cardio and weights. The weight lifting is what helped me lose a lot of the weight. I workout 5-6 days a week, with a rest day on Sundays. Since I live far away from my gym, I workout at home in my garage.
My transformation took 2 years, because I was still trying to understand how food works, the right amount to eat, portion sizes, calorie restriction, etc. Taking the time to learn did help me out a great deal in those areas.
My advice to those who want to lose weight is remember to always love yourself. I also suggest seeking therapy, for those who need it. Start slow by eating clean for two weeks and then start slow with your workouts. Start with walking or even something fun like zumba!
