Transformation of the Day: Sammiiee lost 51 pounds. When this young lady reached her highest weight of 300lbs last year, she realized that it was time for some major changes. By working with a personal trainer, eating clean, cooking her meals and doing Intermittent Fasting she has transformed her body and her lifestyle.
I’m 25 years old and I have been heavy all my life. I got to my heaviest weight in 2016/2017. At the time, I’d moved to Atlanta by myself for work and I was depressed. Basically, I’d enough of being big and unhealthy.
I started working with a trainer and eating clean in October 2017. I worked out 5-6 times a week, either with my trainer and by myself. My trainer does a lot of HIIT mixed with strength/weight training with me. When I work out on my own, 2-3 times a week, I incorporate what I learn from him and I do a lot of cardio (sprinting on the treadmill, walking on a 15 incline, etc.).
I started eating healthier and cut out the eating out/fast food. I cook monday thru friday, because that’s the most realistic routine for my schedule. I look up recipes on Pinterest, follow a lot of fitness accounts that share their meals and try new things. My trainer helps me with my macros so I know what to eat and what foods to buy.
I also do Intermittent Fasting and that has helped me to lose a lot of weight. Right now, I’m trying low carb food choices with lots of protein. Changing my eating habits was the hardest part for me, but I stick to cooking healthy meals Mon-Fri and that helps.
My starting weight (in Oct) was 300 pounds and now I weigh 249 pounds at 5’4″. This journey is hard but it is So worth it. I have 50-70 more pounds to lose before I reach my goal of 100-120 total pounds lost.
I stay motivated by setting goals. I’m very driven, so it’s important that I hit them. My trainer also keeps me motivated and he’s always very positive. Getting a trainer helped me tremendously.
The biggest thing I’ve learned is that this is not an overnight process. You have to be Patient! I still struggle with the patience part.
My advice: Do it for you because that’s how you stay motivated. Also, you have to do it when you’re ready!
