Update July 2020: Sade has lost 10 more pounds for a total of 37 pounds gone.
Transformation of the Day: Sade lost 27 pounds. After her husband was deployed, she started her health and fitness journey. Although she was stuck at home with her baby girl and no car, she worked out at home and got great results.
After my husband got deployed in October 2019, I vowed to do something for myself and start a fitness journey finally. It was hard, and depression takes over, especially when you are worrying and don’t have the things you need. However, I was able to push through and allow fitness to be my gateway. Since January 2020, starting at 202 pounds, I’ve lost 27 lbs to date. My current weight is 175 pounds, and I couldn’t be any happier with my progress! What makes it better is that I achieved this all in the corner of my room. I cant wait to see where my transformation will be when my husband returns home.
How did you change your eating habits?
Once my husband deployed, I came back home for a while and started eating low-carb and low-sugar. I drank green tea before each meal, and I drank water. If I knew I was going to have a cheat meal, I would make sure all my other meals were as clean as possible during the day. All my meals included at least a fruit or a veggie. I learned that my meals don’t have to be plain and boring. I did not use a specific diet plan. I was just more mindful of what I ate.
Tell us about your workout routine.
Since I was stuck home without a car and with my baby girl, I started an Instagram page strictly for my fitness journey. On this page, I only followed my close friends and other fitness pages. I went to Five Below, bought bands and weights, and started trying various workouts. To become dedicated and get in the groove, I worked out every single day by doing a Zumba dance workout from youtube and a 15 min indoor mile walk. After a while, I started doing HIIT cardio three times a week and strength training two times a week. The weekends were my active rest days.
What is your height?
I’m 5’3″.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to be patient! Hoping on the scale every morning is not going to help you lose weight any faster. Being consistent and dedicated is key. Keep a positive mindset so you can keep pushing and knocking your goals out, one by one.
What advice would you share with women who want to lose weight?
Cut the negative people out and surround yourself with positive people, both in-person and via social media. Don’t set strict goals in the beginning, and don’t deprive yourself. Only one thing can stop you from being the best version of yourself, and that’s YOU! We allow people to make us feel like we can’t do things, but in reality, we CAN. We just have to change our mindset and push through. We won’t see the fast results, so we have to be patient. The outcome will be so amazing that you won’t want to stop!

I am so proud of her because I see the big Change and effort she did and keep doing to love herself more and feel confident in her new body and have not doing it for someone else.. Proof of that is Very focused and she does not fail to do her exercises and her healthy meals even though I try to make her sin sometimes offering her sweets. The change is seen now in the photo because sometimes we used to seeing a person all the time that sometimes you don’t see the change. Keep on doing it!
